Resist 78 is a high-volume solids, inorganic zinc silicate coating with 80% zinc dust, designed as a primer for coating systems where extended durability is required. Resist 78 provides very good corrosion protection when used as part of a coating system in atmospheric conditions and is heat resistant up to 400C. It is suitable for use on properly prepared carbon steel substrates and is easy to apply. Resist 78 is certified in NORSOK system 1 and complies with ASTM D520 type II zinc dust.
Pre-qualification testing in accordance with NORSOK M-501, Rev. 5, System 1, suitable for exterior exposure in offshore environment, below 120 °C.
Suitable for use in mating surfaces of High Strength Friction Grip Bolted Connections:
Complies with the requirements of Research Council on Structural Connections (RCSC) Class B, Appendix A (Slip coefficient and resistance to tension creep).
